Nancy Drew: The Haunting of Castle Malloy Hints
How do I get rid of the flies in the birdcage?
1 of 6: Aren't they disgusting? Shame Nancy doesn't carry a can of Raid with her or something.
2 of 6: Ah, but this is some bird's home, remember. We don't want to use anything that will hurt the bird, just the flies.
3 of 6: Turn to the left and look at the table with all the herbs. Maybe there's something here that can help.
4 of 6: Open the book and turn a couple of pages till you come to the recipes. One is titled, "Bug Bane." Since bane means something that causes harm, that should do nicely.
5 of 6: All the herbs you need are in the little bowls above the table. Grab a handful of each herb on the list -- tansy, pennyroyal, wormwood, thyme, and catnip -- and put them in the mortar and pestle (the little stone bowl on the table with the stone pounder in it). Click on the mortar to grind the herbs up, then take them.
6 of 6: Now turn back to the cage and zoom in close on it. Pull the herbs out of your inventory and use them on the flies. If you used the right herbs, the flies disappear and you can take the thing at the bottom of the cage.
