What is Donal's major malfunction?
Well, like a lot of people, he really REALLY wants there to be magic, especially if it means he's the one who knows what's going on when others are baffled. He's also, like a lot of (*cough*) older people, super stubborn and inclined to be more so when he thinks people are trying to tell him what to do. And on top of that, he's just crabby. Maybe he has arthritis, and the damp cold of an Irish bog is NOT good on aging joints.
