Nancy Drew: Ransom of the Seven Ships Hints

What the heck is a KmHz?

  • Well ... a mistake, actually.

A Hertz (Hz) is a measure of frequency, of a sound or a radio wave. A kilohertz (KHz) is a thousand Hertz, and a Megahertz (MHz) is a million Hertz. However a Millihertz (mHz) is a thousandth of a Hertz. I think they meant to write KMHz, or a thousand million Hertz; instead, they wrote KmHz, which is a thousand 1/1000 Hertz -- in other words, a single Hertz. Hmm. Let's just call it a typo and move on, shall we?
