Nancy Drew 21: Warnings at Waverly Academy Hints
Who took the Poe book, and why?
1 of 4: You found it under a pile of stuff at the foot of Leela's bed, which makes it look like she took it -- but think about this a minute.
2 of 4: Leela has no interest in Poe, and nothing else ties her to the central mystery. She's only interested in games, or more accurately, in winning. Why would she steal a book of Poe stories?
3 of 4: The culprit, on the other hand, does have an interest in Poe; she told you so when you asked her about the missing book. And wasn't the text message telling you about the coast being clear to go look for the book in Leela's room just a tad suspicious?
4 of 4: It seems most likely that Corine took the book for her paper and possibly to make the list of stories you found at the front of the book. Then, seeing you searching around for it and knowing she wouldn't be able to keep it secret for long, she stashed the book in Leela's room and sent you the text message so you'd blame Leela. What a rat!
