Who lured the mice into the house?
There are a couple of possibilities here. It might have been Scott, who was trying to sabotage everything; or it might have been Debbie, who was trying to sabotage Scott. There's no direct evidence for either, though, and they both asked you to get rid of the mice in their areas.
I'm inclined to think it was just a natural mouse infestation. The receipt you found for dried corn could have been for the ears of corn being used as decoration around the farmhouse. And Debbie was right when she said the piles of dried corn could have been left there by the mice; they do actually do that.
