Nancy Drew 22: Trail of the Twister Hints
How do I fix the video camera?
of 8: What you're trying to do here is insert the numbers at the bottom of the screen so it's possible to run in sequence from 1 to 88. Read to the end of this hint for the exact order the numbers should be in when you're done.
of 8: The red numbers are fixed in place, so you need to put the other numbers in the spaces that are left. Each number needs to touch the numbers before and after it, either on the side, top or bottom, or at one of the corners. When you are done, you should be able to take a pencil and draw a line from 1 through 88 without lifting the pencil.
of 8: For example, in the Junior puzzle, the lowest number to be placed is 8, which needs to go next to 7. The 7 is in the 6th row from the top, 7th column from the left, and there are lots of blank spaces around it; the 8 can go in any of those.
of 8: However, remember that you're going to want to connect it to the rest of the sequence eventually. The next fixed number is 11, which is three rows up and one column left. So you need to place the 8 and 9 so that the 10 can end up touching the 11. See?
of 8: To place a number, left-click on it, move the mouse where you want the number to go, and click again. The game will assume you want the next number up next; if you don't, right-click to get rid of it and go pick up the number you want.
of 8: You don't have to start at the beginning; if it seems to make more sense, you can start at the other end, or work anywhere in the middle and jump around as it pleases you. You can see how far the sequence has gotten by hovering the mouse over any of the numbers, and it will turn all the connected numbers blue.
of 8: If you find that the next number in sequence is completely unreachable, then you've made a mistake somewhere along the way. You can remove individual numbers by picking them up and then right-clicking, or you can reset the entire puzzle by clicking on the Reset box.
of 8: Regardless of Frosty's irritated comments, there's no time limit on this puzzle; you can't back away from it till it's done, though you can always save your game here and come back later. Here are the two final solutions:
