Nancy Drew 23: Shadow at the Water's Edge Hints
Do I have to do these puzzles?
1 of 5: Well, no, you don't. You can finish the game out completely without doing a single one of Rentaro's puzzles, if that's your fancy. But there are a couple reasons why you might want to.
2 of 5: 1. They're fun. Yes, okay, they're tough, I know. But they're also fun, once you figure out how they work, and it feels good to stretch your brain sometimes.
3 of 5: 2. They're good practice. Later in the game, you'll have to do a way hard Sudoku and a really fiendish nonogram puzzle to finish the game. Rentaro's puzzles are good practice for those tougher puzzles. There's no excuse for the renograms, however.
4 of 5: 3. Rentaro will tell you something faintly interesting as a reward when you finish all eight of a given type of puzzle. (Not particularly useful, perhaps, but interesting.)
5 of 5: 4. If you do all 24 puzzles, you'll get an award as a Puzzle Pro at the end of the game. Woo-hoo!
