Nancy Drew 23: Shadow at the Water's Edge Hints

Does this really spell out "Nancy Drew"?

  • 1 of 3: Yes, or as close as you can come in Japanese.
  • 2 of 3: You can find the bits for "Nancy" on the katakana page in Takae's calligraphy book, which is in the top right drawer of the little box on the left side of the room. The first character is "na," then "n," and then "tsu." So if you sound it out, it's Nantsu, which is pretty close to Nancy.
  • 3 of 3: The second part uses characters not found in Takae's book, but I found them online here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katakana. This shows that the last two syllables here are "du" and "ru." So the whole scrolls says "Nantsu Duru," which is pretty cool.
