Nancy Drew 23: Shadow at the Water's Edge Hints
Is this game scary?
1 of 7: Well, yes. For a Nancy Drew game, that is.
2 of 7: I mean, there's no blood, no bodies, no monsters, none of that stuff; so compared to a real horror movie, it's quite tame. But there are a bunch of times when creepy things happen, and twice when people or things jump at you out of nowhere. It scared the pants right off of me, I'll tell you that.
3 of 7: So if you like being scared, this is the game for you. If you don't, read on and I'll tell you exactly when the two scariest bits come so you can be ready.
4 of 7: The first one happens the first time you enter the baths. You walk into the room, and then Nancy goes automatically toward the mirror where there's a figure that doesn't seem to be in the room. I jumped a mile, but nothing worse happens.
5 of 7: The second one happens in a hidden passageway late in the game. You have to solve a puzzle to open a secret compartment in the wall; after you do, the same figure will suddenly be there. It's a lot more dangerous this time, but after you escape, you find the figure is now completely harmless. But it's pretty unpleasant all the same.
