Nancy Drew 23: Shadow at the Water's Edge Hints

How do I assemble the photos?

  • 1 of 9: First, as Nancy said, you need to find a way to print them out.
  • 2 of 9: This is easier (and cheaper) than you'd think. Remember the photo booth at the pachinko parlor?
  • 3 of 9: Print out all seven pictures (again, just the color photos), then go into your inventory and click on one of them. If you have all seven photos, Nancy will put them into a pattern that matches the one printed on the bottom of the photo booth.
  • 4 of 9: What you need to do now is move the pictures around until the lines on them make four Japanese characters. Read to the end of this hint for a picture showing how they go together.
  • 5 of 9: The characters look something like the katakana characters we used to write Nancy's name, but they're not quite the same. That is, they're mostly straight lines at various angles.

On the picture of Yumi and Bess, there are two purple horizontal lines at the upper left. If you put George in an upper box and Yumi and Bess in a lower box next to George, the lines connect. See?
  • 8 of 9: The pictures themselves won't form a square or anything, though they do all connect. Just focus on getting those characters to line up.
  • 9 of 9: Here's how the pictures go together:
