Nancy Drew 23: Shadow at the Water's Edge Hints
What do I do with the "something missing" tiles?
1 of 6: If you look at the wall across from the actual bath, you'll see an interesting pattern of tiles, and Nancy says there's something missing. Come back when you find a piece of tile that might fit here.
2 of 6: You'll find the missing piece when you open the puzzle box on the front desk.
3 of 6: When you use the missing piece on the tiles, you move to a new screen. The object here is to use the loose tiles to fill in the box at the top. Read to the end of this hint for a screenshot of one way to do this.
4 of 6: The pieces can be rotated by right-clicking on them. In addition, one piece, the rhomboid you just found, will flip every couple of moves
5 of 6: There are a lot of ways to do this, and any way that gets all the pieces in the square is the right one. But if you're stuck, here's how I did it:
6 of 6: Once all the tiles are in place, look through the peephole to see some interpersonal interaction (i.e., a flaming row between two characters). This is the only time you'll see anything here, by the way; you don't need to keep coming back to re-solve the puzzle and look through the peephole again.
