Nancy Drew 23: Shadow at the Water's Edge Hints
How do I listen to the recordings?
1 of 8: When in doubt, go back to the source.
2 of 8: That is, go back to Rentaro --
3 of 8: -- or rather, go to Rentaro's shed when he's not there. You don't know what you might have recorded, after all; it might be something you don't want him to hear.
4 of 8: Go to the shed after 1 a.m. and put the recorder in the docking station on the right worktable. To listen to the recordings, press the number you want to listen to, then press the large Play button on the docking station.
5 of 8: Most of the recordings just turn out to be various creepy sounds, but there are two that are pretty interesting: the one behind the cherry tree, and the one by the lantern.
6 of 8: The one from the lantern has to do with one of the game's Easter eggs. The other is more interesting than that even.
7 of 8: Apparently, while you were behind the cherry tree with the recorder turned on, several people somewhere nearby (in Rentaro's shed or one of the upstairs rooms, maybe) were having an argument, and one of them threw something into the pond.
