Nothing happens!
If you set the clock and nothing happens, go back upstairs and do the thing with the blue page and the book again. I don't know why, but sometimes the game makes you do this twice (she said with a snarl).
By the time you come back, Anja might have returned to the gift shop or be about to return, so you might need to go back to the security booth and send her another bogus alarm to keep her out of the way.
