Nancy Drew 24: The Captive Curse Hints

How do I play Lukas's Monster game?

  • 1 of 6: Lukas will explain it, and he plays one round as a demonstration before the real game starts. It's pretty simple, once you figure out what's going on.
  • 2 of 6: Each game consists of one round as the monster and one as the farmer. I find it much easier being the farmer, personally.
  • 3 of 6: The strategy when you're the monster is to put your monsters in spots where they're surrounded by cows. Kill cows that are surrounded by other cows so it's not immediately obvious where your monster is. If you kill a cow that's only touched by one other cow, Lukas will instantly know where the monster is.
  • 4 of 6: My strategy when I'm the farmer is to spread the cows out as much as you can so they're only touching one or two other cows. That way, when one of them is killed, there won't be as many cows moved, and I can usually tell pretty quickly where the monster is. If you're not absolutely sure where the next monster is, pass rather than killing one of your cows yourself.
  • 5 of 6: If you win, Lukas gives you a pack of cards for Karl's irritating game, Raid. You'll need to play at least one game of Monster with Lukas, so you might as well get it over with.
  • 6 of 6: The difference between the easy, medium, and hard versions has to do with Lukas's playing ability. If you play the hard game, he's much smarter and harder to beat. If you're not fond of the game, play the easy version to get it over with more quickly.
