Nancy Drew 24: The Captive Curse Hints

Karl wants proof of the monster. What do I do?

  • 1 of 10: After you tell Karl about the second monster sighting --
  • 2 of 10: -- he refuses to believe that you haven't caught the real monster. You need to get some proof for him, or he's going to do something terrible to the person he thinks is responsible.
  • 3 of 10: The best kind of proof in this case is a photograph, and Nancy's phone is ready to oblige, if only you knew where the monster was going to show up next.
  • 4 of 10: Someone else in the castle has been tracking the monster too, and marking down every place it has been seen. Does that help?
  • 5 of 10: Pull out Renate's map, and Nancy notes that Renate seems to have known where the monster was going to strike, since her map shows sightings in all the places where the monster was actually seen. The only place on the map that marks a sighting where you haven't yet seen the monster is --
  • 6 of 10: -- in the forest next to that one big tree. So let's go there. To reach it from the rocks just inside the entrance to the forest, go forward, right, left, forward, and look to your right.
  • 7 of 10: When you get to the tree, pick up a pile of coins at its base if you haven't before, then click on the roots on the left to get behind the tree.
  • 8 of 10: On a rock in front of you is another cipher page; pick it up, and then wait for the monster. It won't be long, and it's not going to be dangerous.
  • 9 of 10: The monster walks back and forth in front of the tree, totally ignoring you, for as long as you sit here. Take as many pictures as you like, though you only need one.
  • 10 of 10: When you have a picture you like, back away from the tree, and you'll be back out on the path in front of the tree with the monster totally gone. Go back to Karl's office (to get back out of the forest, face the tree, then turn right and go forward, right, left, forward, forward) and show him your proof.
