How do I find out where that rock came from?
Well, you don't. Lovely neighbors you have, don't you? But it's clear now that Brenda's ugly little disinformation plot is working pretty well. If you don't stop her, it really won't matter whether the police believe you or not; even if you get off, your neighbors will believe you lied or bought them off or wiggled your way out of it somehow. In the court of public opinion, it's impossible to prove a negative -- once they think you did something, you'll never be able to prove you didn't, and the only thing Nancy will be able to do is move to Antarctica and start all over again. Do you suppose the Happy Feet penguins need an amateur detective?
