Do the three friends share inventory?
1 of 3: No, and they can't trade stuff via the police station's night deposit box either. But this really isn't a problem; if a friend can pick up an item, he or she can use it.
2 of 3: They do share information -- that is, if one person finds something out, they all know it. They also have the same checklist (if you're playing as a junior), but each one can check the items individually.
3 of 3: You can find out who picked up which item by either switching from one to the next and looking in their inventory, or you can read the journal, since when someone picks something up from the drop box, it's logged in there (for example, "Ned picked up Nancy's house key").
