2 of 3: -- an accelerant is a chemical, usually a liquid, that makes a fire burner faster and hotter. It includes things like gasoline, propane, alcohol, kerosene -- that is, anything that burns like crazy, anything an arsonist might use to make a building go up fast and burn hot.
