Nancy Drew 27: The Deadly Device Hints

What does "due diligence" mean?

  • In this context, "due diligence" is a legal term for the kind of investigation that gets done before a contract is signed, usually for the purchase of a business. Usually it's financial in nature (finding out what debts a company has, how much its assets are worth, and so on), but it also includes the condition of the buildings and employees. Think of it as looking a gift horse in the mouth.
