Why is Charlotte's ghost dressed like that?
1 of 2: You mean why is someone who died in 1989 dressed like she died in 1889? Good question. Because it's creepier?
2 of 2: If you buy the explanation for the ghosts given in the epilogue -- that they're all hallucinations caused by carbon monoxide poisoning -- it's because that's the kind of ghost Nancy expects to see in a ruined Southern plantation.
