Nancy Drew 28: Ghost of Thornton Hall Hints

What is there to find here?

  • 1 of 8: Not that many items, but what you do find is significant.
  • 2 of 8: On the right, there's a large portrait reminiscent of a Gainsborough and a wooden case on a small table.
  • 3 of 8: Straight ahead you'll see a row of clocks on the mantelpiece, with a switch underneath and a keyhole on the right. Clearly a puzzle, but you'll need both the key and some idea about what time you want before even starting on this one.
  • 4 of 8: At the left, go forward to look at Charlotte's dresser. Here you'll find a sort of journal and a jewelry box.
  • 5 of 8: The journal only has two readable pages. The text is ominous but confusing, since it doesn't name any names. The diagram on the right says it has to do with Franklin's memorial. You might want to take a picture of it with Nancy's phone -- odds are you'll need it eventually.
  • 6 of 8: The jewelry box has two compartments; the top one flips open without any difficulty and reveals two interesting items --
  • 7 of 8: -- an invitation to Charlotte's last birthday party (gag, what a menu!), and a small key that opens (aha!) the box under the porch.
  • 8 of 8: The other compartment opens when you solve the tile puzzle on the face of the jewelry box.
