Nancy Drew 30: The Shattered Medallion Hints
What am I supposed to do with this screen in the cave?
of 10: This puzzle may look horribly confusing at first, but pull up the book of Maori symbols you got from Kiri and it'll get much clearer.
of 10: Look up at the puzzle, and you'll see the word "Koru" at the left. Look up Koru in the book, and then look on the board for the symbol that goes with that word -- a circle with a spiral inside it.
of 10: Click on the board until that symbol is completely filled in, and pop! A new word pops up for you to find and fill in. Read to the end of this hint for a screenshot showing all the symbols.
of 10: One thing to watch for here is that you need to fill in every little particle of each symbol. For example, in the Koru one, there are a lot of tiny corners where other symbols overlap.
of 10: One that's confusing is koropepe, which looks a lot like manaia. The difference is that koropepe is curled in on itself, while manaia is more of an S shape.
of 10: Also, the book only shows the regular Rau Kumaru, but you need to find a triple one; look for the same design but with three loops instead of two.
of 10: If you're still lost, here are the symbols you're looking for:
of 10: And to your intense irritation, doing all this results in yet another missing medallion. But this time, the culprit left a note leaving no doubt where it went.
of 10: So track that person down and ask about your medallion -- but!
of 10: Don't do that until you've done everything else you want to do in camp, such as talking to people, buying stuff, and so on. Once you ask the person about your medallion, you enter the endgame and no longer have access to George, Bess, or anything else in the game again.
