So *can* gorillas swim?
I did extensive research on this (well sort of -- I googled the phrase "can gorillas swim"), and I found contradicting statements on both sides. They apparently don't like to, and it doesn't come easily to them; they're just not built right for it and their center of gravity is in the wrong place, among other factors. I'm not sure it has anything to do with body fat, though.
But for obvious reasons, no one has ever thrown a gorilla into a body of water and filmed the results, so there's no proof one way or the other.
