Nancy Drew 30: The Shattered Medallion Hints
Where are the blades for the shearing machine?
1 of 8: You'll find them in the locker by the door. If you've glanced through the sheep book you got from the Field area --
2 of 8: -- you saw that this puzzle wants the numbers arranged so each row and column to add up to 20. Read to the end of this hint for the way to do this.
3 of 8: This looks like a simple math puzzle at first, but there's a twist. Look closely and you see that each number has a little hinge on one side. When you click on a number, its little panel swings open like a door.
4 of 8: When a number panel is flipped, the number on it will disappear from the board, and so will any number that the panel just flipped up to cover.
5 of 8: This can be very helpful if the number it covers is one you also want to get rid of, but if it's one you want to keep, it can be a problem. But there's a way around that.
6 of 8: All you have to do is first flip the one you want to keep, then flip the one you want to lose, then flip the first one back. That way the second number is hidden by the first number. See?
7 of 8: The amateur version of this puzzle can be solved by flipping just four numbers; the master version requires more flipping. Here's one way to do it if you're stuck.
