Nancy Drew 30: The Shattered Medallion Hints
How do I fix the fan in the shearing machine?
1 of 7: Go look closely at the sheep to be sheared (at the far end of the woolshed), then back away and look up at the red machine above it.
2 of 7: If you click on this machine, it'll open to show you a large fan with some of the blades twisted around, and it won't work till all the blades are lying flat. Read to the end of this hint to learn one way to do this.
3 of 7: This is one of those infuriating puzzles where clicking on one element affects other elements. Who in dog's name would build a fan like this? Eh, never mind.

5 of 7: Once you know the effect of each blade, you can either carefully plan out the perfect order to trigger them --
6 of 7: -- or you can do what I usually do, which is to start by clicking on the blades that change the most blades and leave the ones that change only themselves until the end. This isn't a perfect strategy, but it can get you a long way.
7 of 7: Personally I get very frustrated with puzzles like this. Here's the fastest way to fix the fan.
