How do I open this triangular chest?

  • 1 of 14: Just open the lid. Looky, blankets!
  • 2 of 14: But I bet you're talking about the three square holes at the back.
  • 3 of 14: You'll find the things that go in those holes inside the rolltop desk.
  • 4 of 14: Now the question is, how to turn those wrenches?
  • 5 of 14: Did you notice the clock face painted between the holes?
  • 6 of 14: Have you seen something like it somewhere else in this room?
  • 7 of 14: Look on the mantlepiece. What an odd clock, with colors on the numbers!
  • 8 of 14: Go back and look at the triangular chest. See the colored birds painted around the square holes?
  • 9 of 14: What if each color on the chest relates to a color on the clock?
  • 10 of 14: That would mean the red bird was 12  --
  • 11 of 14: -- the light blue bird was 2 --
  • 12 of 14: -- and the yellow bird was 7.
  • 13 of 14: So turn the wrenches to 12, 2, and 7 o'clock.
  • 14 of 14: Oh, and this won't work until you actually look at the clock, whether you know the solution or not. So go look at it.
