Nancy Drew 11: Curse of Blackmoor Manor Hints

What does this tapestry mean?

  • 1 of 9: You might not think it, but this is a very helpful tapestry. (Unless you're playing the DVD version, in which case it's just decorative.)
  • 2 of 9: There's a reference to it in Nigel's laptop. Read Chapter IV to get a clue here.
  • 3 of 9: This tapestry tells you what order the tiles around the outside of Jane's door should go in.
  • 4 of 9: Nigel's text tells you how to interpret five of the tiles; the rest are fairly obvious.
  • 5 of 9: The tiles show a hand giving coins to another hand, the sun, the moon, Atlas holding up the earth, an old man, three goblets, a fool juggling, an angel, a compass like you use in geometry, and a knight. See if you can find those ideas in the tapestry.
  • 6 of 9: The relevant words are --
  • 7 of 9: "As the MOON rises upon thee, fear not, but draw upon the STRENGTH of absent friends, and TOAST to their memories in happiness and wonder. With the stalwart heart of a KNIGHT, let CHARITY be the guiding ANGEL. Stay firm in knowledge of a dedicated GEOMETER, and fear not the ravages of  FATHER TIME. For dear child, as you learn the lessons of FOLLY, the secrets of this world shall DAWN in they soul."
  • 8 of 9: Moon, Knight, and Angel are just what they seem. Toast is goblets being raised in a toast, and Dawn is the sun. According to Nigel, Strength is Atlas holding up the world, Charity is one hand giving coins to another, Geometer is a compass, Time is an old man, and Folly is a fool juggling.
  • 9 of 9: So the correct order, left to right, is Moon, Atlas, Cups, Knight, Coins, Angel, Compass, Father Time, Fool, Sun.
