Nancy Drew 11: Curse of Blackmoor Manor Hints

Fire

  • 1 of 12: The only real clue to this is in Corbin's entry in the book on the right workbench.
  • 2 of 12: Once there is oil in the reservoir, the water is turned, air is flowing to the forge, and you've correctly arranged the pipes in the column, you're ready to start the fire.
  • 3 of 12: Go to the "master guardian gargoyle." That's the biggest one --
  • 4 of 12: -- the one in the upper hall, the one guarding the entrance to the west passageway.
  • 5 of 12: Use the wand on his head, and his eyes start to glow. You can also hear a clock ticking, which means you have a limited time to do this -- so hustle!
  • 6 of 12: One of the other gargoyles is in the room with the green dragon, where the west passageway starts --
  • 7 of 12: -- and the other is in the Great Hall, to the right of the conservatory door. Do the same trick with the wand with them. If you're in time, their eyes glow like the first one.
  • 8 of 12: The most efficient way to do this is to tap the large gargoyle, then run down the hall past Loulou to the room with the coat of arms and tap that gargoyle, then turn around and run back past Loulou and downstairs to the last gargoyle.
  • 9 of 12: You can also take the hidden slide to get down fast, but sometimes when you do this Ethel suddenly shows up to say vaguely threatening things. It's a little startling, but nothing more -- except she does delay you while the clock runs out, and you have to start all over again.
  • 10 of 12: Once all three gargoyles have red eyes, use the wand on the place where you saw Jane pouring oil.
  • 11 of 12: That's that drain in the middle of the floor in the Great Hall.
  • 12 of 12: If you did everything right, a large poof! of flame erupts, and the forge is lit.
