Nancy Drew 11: Curse of Blackmoor Manor Hints
Are there any Easter eggs or other fun stuff?
of 12: There is one Easter egg (literally) that triggers a couple of funny moments, and there are a lot of references to the other games. (An Easter egg is a deliberate joke put into a game by the programmers. For example, in "Danger on Deception Island," clicking on one specific spot makes pictures of the programmers' pets appear.)
of 12: The real Easter egg is triggered by the chattering teeth in Jane's room.
of 12: Click on them ten times to get a new object in your inventory, then click on the teeth again to get a different sound.
of 12: You now have access to one of the unmarked buttons on the phone in your room. That's Shorty from Shadow Ranch doing some half-fast yodeling.
of 12: And some time after you solve the frog puzzle, you might have a frog-related dream one night. (Though this might happen even if you don't find the egg.)
of 12: I'm not going to list all the jokes and stuff from other games here, since half the fun is finding it for yourself. But here are some things I ran across:
of 12: -- Read the wedding announcement shown briefly during the intro, especially the last paragraph.
of 12: -- Read Nigel's memoirs for a couple of Shadow Ranch references.
of 12: -- Look for the KoKo Kringle bars in Jane's room.
of 12: -- Notice the Brady Armstrong poster above Jane's desk; he's a character from "The Final Scene."
of 12: -- Notice how the decorative gargoyle on the inside of Jane's door sometimes blinks at you as you leave.
of 12: -- Pay attention to the odd things Loulou says as you go past ("You're gonna need a bigger boat" and so on). Many of these are quotes from movies; the thing about the boat is from Jaws, for example.
