How do I catch a 19-inch largemouth bass?

  • 1 of 8: The basic process is pretty easy: put some bait on the hook, throw it into the water, and when you see the white bobber go under, yank it in.
  • 2 of 8: But different fish go for different bait and swim in different parts of the pond. There are too many combinations to go through them all.
  • 3 of 8: You need some help from one of the locals. Have you seen any evidence of anyone local who might be involved in fishing, besides Mr. Phelps?
  • 4 of 8: The walls of Topham's house are plastered with fishing lures. I'd bet Mister Smarter-Than-You-Topham doesn't do anything as ordinary as fishing; they must have been Josiah's.
  • 5 of 8: Have you gotten into the Carriage House yet?
  • 6 of 8: On the workbench downstairs next to the clock, there's a little pamphlet talking about the different fish here at Bogart's Pond.
  • 7 of 8: It says largemouth bass respond best to minnows and swim in grass beds.
  • 8 of 8: So go back to the pond and use a minnow on the hook, then cast into the grassy area at the right. Ta-dah!
