Nancy Drew: The Secret of the Old Clock Hints
How do I get Topham to leave?
1 of 7: First you need to know why you want him to leave.
2 of 7: You may have an idea or so, but you won't really know until you open Josiah's safe deposit box and read what's inside.
3 of 7: Josiah's journal refers to cues for three characters from Shakespeare's play, "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Josiah's copy of the play is sitting on the desk behind Topham.
4 of 7: After you've read the journal, go ask Topham to borrow the book.
5 of 7: Nope, he's decided to be a jerk and won't let you have it. (What a surprise.) You need to come back when he's busy, say with a student. But when he's with a student, he locks the front door.
6 of 7: Have you discovered an alternate way to get into the house?
7 of 7: Go all the way through the secret passage to the ladder at the other end, then return back to the Lilac Inn. The second time you go through the secret passage, Topham will be out of the room and you can just go in.
