  • 2 of 4: Typewriter ribbons normally feed right to left, so unless Mr. Archer rewound the typewriter ribbon, the words would be wound on the left spindle, not the right.
  • 3 of 4: And if we're going to be picky, those early ribbons were just cloth soaked in ink. You might be able to see a faint impression of a letter, but nothing like this sharp clear silhouette. It's only in the last 20 years or so that typewriter ribbons have looked like this.
  • 4 of 4: But come on, the puzzle would be impossibly hard if it was 100% realistic.
