Are old letters really that valuable?
They sure are. Handwritten letters with signatures from Lincoln and Samuel Clemens fetch staggering prices today, and a personal letter from Lincoln the day before he was assassinated that actually mentioned the play he was watching when he was shot would set astronomical records -- into the millions at least. (Assuming Lori the Airhead didn't drop it in the mud, that is.)
