Nancy Drew: Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon Hints
So what really happened to Jake, Camille, and the engineer?
Camille's fate is fairly well figured out. Stuck in that hot train in the desert with no air conditioning, she got dizzy, fell over, and hit her head. She died a few hours later from what sounds like a hematoma, perhaps with a bit of heat stroke added. Poor thing.
Jake apparently got stuck in the mine by a cave-in. Since no one else knew where the mine was, no one could come dig him out, and it looks like he just starved to death.
As for James Thurston the engineer, that's a little fuzzier. Most likely, he had a heart attack while waiting (endlessly) for Jake to return -- but if that's all, why was the cab locked from the inside? Maybe one of Jake's piezoelectric effects appeared suddenly and spooked him into a heart attack ...
... or was it Camille's ghost? (OOooooOOOOooooOOOOOO.....)
