How do I win the Leaping Lizards game?

  • 1 of 5: When can I play this game?
    This is Chinese Checkers, if you've ever played it. You jump one piece over another to remove them from the board; the object is to get rid of all the pieces except for one, though Tino will admit defeat if you can get it down to just four pieces left.
  • 2 of 5: A little messing around with it will show you that the thing that keeps you from winning is leaving pieces stuck in the corners without any way to get another piece close enough for them to jump. Keep this in mind as you go.
  • 3 of 5: One strategy is to find a way to clear out one of the branches, then repeat that process in the other three branches. Just remember not to leave any piece so isolated that you can't reach it with another piece.
  • 4 of 5: It's possible to clear the board completely so there's only one piece left, and that one at the center of the board. Yes, really.
  • 5 of 5: To do it, number the squares of the board like this -- Leaping Lizard Board -- and move the pieces like this:
