Nancy Drew: Danger By Design Hints
How do I fix the plotter?
of 9: This plotter (a kind of printer used by graphic artists) must break down a lot. I wonder if Sonny Joon ever had to fix it?
of 9: Check the left desk drawer to see if his notes have anything to say that might be helpful.
of 9: The last page of the notes has what looks like a page from the owner's manual of the plotter. It doesn't say much, but what are those weird symbols at the bottom?
of 9: They look random, but they're not. Notice how each one is a collection of three bars of different heights?
of 9: Go look at the plotter closely. The controls consist of three bars that can be set at different heights. Hmm ...
of 9: Now go back and look at that page again. Each of the symbols must show different ways to set the plotter controls; for example, the last one would be with the first button at the top, the second button at the middle, and the last one near the bottom.
of 9: Now that you know that, all you have to do is figure out which setting to use. You'll just have to try them all --
of 9: -- which isn't too horrible, since any one of them will do the job.
of 9: The easiest one is the first one. Push the middle button (the one marked H) once so the settings are 1, 2, 1, then push print.
