Nancy Drew: Danger By Design Hints
How do I open the dodo box?
1 of 7: If you try to pick up the dodo box when Heather's there, she makes you put it down. So you'll need to wait till she goes away.
2 of 7: After you make cookies for JJ, go back to Minette's studio to find a "Do Not Disturb" sign on Minette's door and a lack of Heather. This is often at the beginning of Day 2.
3 of 7: Pick up the dodo box and look at the top. This puzzle is similar to the "Run for Cover" game in ND 10 ("The Secret of Shadow Ranch"). Read to the very end of this hint for step-by-step instructions for this puzzle.
4 of 7: You're trying to move the dodo piece to the white square. Every time you move, however, the predator pieces (hawk, fox, man -- though if the puzzle was historically accurate, it would be cat, rat, man) move toward you, trying to pounce on you and keep you from getting there. Awk!
5 of 7: There are two things working in your favor here: the predators can only move one square at a time, and they always move by set rules, not by intelligence. So if you get them stuck in a box, they won't have the brains to back out and keep coming toward you, or to avoid the box in the first place.
6 of 7: Another thing to remember is that in the sections with two predators, they will often do you in by coming from different sides so you get cornered. You can sometimes avoid this by going *toward* them, then away, and making them follow you in a line. This looks more dangerous than it is; they can't go two spaces at once, and they can't go sideways -- they HAVE to follow you in line.
7 of 7: Here are step-by-step instructions to open the Dodo box:
