Nancy Drew: Danger By Design Hints
How do I use the decoder to decipher the journal code?
1 of 4: First, open the bottom panel on the machine and set the wheels to the numbers shown on the stone disks in Minette's studio. That's:
2 of 4: Then close the machine to return to the keyboard, where Nancy says she has to use her own keyboard. That means you need to type it in on *your* keyboard. Type slowly and carefully the string of letters that starts with "XTI0..." Be especially careful about O and 0 -- the one that's a zero will have a line through it. And there are no 1's, only I's. If you make a mistake, the machine resets and you have to start over. There's no time limit, so just go slow and you'll get it.
3 of 4: When you get done, you have five easy French words that are colors. (If you don't know what colors, you can get a French dictionary from one of the sellers at the flea market to help you. Look on page 4 for the names of colors.)
4 of 4: What do those colors mean? They're the combination to a door lock that consists of five colors. If you haven't seen one yet, write this list down so you'll have it when you do.
