Nancy Drew: Danger By Design Hints

How do I keep the villain from beating me?

  • 1 of 5: Every time you get hit, your energy drops; but the villain's energy drops too, almost as much. If you could just keep from getting hurt, the villain would get worn out before you and drop first.
  • 2 of 5: The trick here is to anticipate where the villain is going to strike next and block the blow. If you can block the blow, you'll lose energy slowly and the villain will lose it quickly instead of the other way around.
  • 3 of 5: Did you buy the Ichi-Do book from the vendor? If so, you'll have a definite advantage; the villain's cry just before the blow lands will tell you where it's going to land, which lets you move the cursor to that location and click, blocking the blow.
  • 4 of 5: If you didn't buy the book or you lost it along the way, you don't really need it. Just watch the villain, and when a move starts get there first and click! to block the blow.
  • 5 of 5: In any case, here's a little diagram of what cry hits where. Print it out and prop it up against the monitor so you don't have to look away during the fight.
