I did what you said and it didn't work!
If you're trying to solve one of the puzzles by just entering the number without going through all the steps, you may have run into one of the game's many anti-cheat-code devices. As was the case in previous games, most of these puzzles won't work if you just put in the solution without solving the puzzle yourself when it comes up in the game; for example, the code that opens The Cross of Lorraine in the Park doesn't work until you solve the eyeball card that gives you the code.
