Nancy Drew: The Creature of Kapu Cave Hints

I'm on this giant honeycomb! How do I get off again?

  • 1 of 7: When you reach the honeycomb, step into the middle of it and then look right. Go forward and look closely at the drums to trigger the endgame!
  • 2 of 7: Your goal in this game is to get onto the solid ground at the right before the Villain gets to the solid ground at the left. Take a step forward to see what happens.
  • 3 of 7: When you step onto a new stone, you drop out of sight, then come back up on the next stone over. This means that you always move two stones, if you can. At the same time, other stones drop out, sometimes an entire row.
  • 4 of 7: After you take a turn, the Villain takes a turn. Each step rebuilds the board, so your opponent's moves might give you a straight smooth path -- or isolate you on a tiny island of two stones.
  • 5 of 7: This puzzle is harder if you're playing as a senior detective. For juniors, your opponent's moves are almost random, and it's not too hard to get to the end first. For seniors, your opponent is a lot sharper, and it's a lot harder to win.
  • 6 of 7: Unfortunately, both versions seem to have a random factor -- that is, sometimes the Villain makes one move, sometimes another. That means I can't tell you exactly how to win. A tactic that works one time doesn't work the next because you never know what your opponent is going to do. And if you save in the middle of the game, when you restore it puts you back at the beginning of the puzzle. Argh!!
  • 7 of 7: So just keep your cool (unlike me) and just keep moving to the end. If the Villain wins, pick Second Chance rather than reloading a saved game; this sometimes makes it easier to win.
