Nancy Drew: The White Wolf of Icicle Creek Hints
Phone Numbers
1 of 3: I don't know if the Nancy Drew games have always done this, but this time I noticed that almost all of the phone numbers spell out things that are tied to what they are. For example, Ned's number in this game is 523-555-4357, the last four numbers of which spell HELP. Since he is quite helpful (thought he doesn't give actual hints in this game), that's a great phone number for him. See how many you can spot -- the ones I've found are below:
2 of 3: Ned: HELP Tino Balducci: JERK (should have seen that one coming) Chantal Moique: CASH (lodge owner who's money-obsessed) Guadalupe Comillo: FANG (guest who's really into wolves) Bill Kessler: ENVY (guest who's obsessed with the things he doesn't have, like money and the lodge) Faringdale: SICK (former guests who got food poisoning) Carl Jenkins: SLIP (former guest who slipped down the icy steps) Southwaite: PETS (former guests who are lovey-dovey newlyweds) Elsa Sibblehoth: A DUD (former maid who faked her tires being slashed) Nikki Sabatini: ROCK (geologist) Sheriff: STAR (as in badge) Hospital: HURT (ouchie) Ice shack: BOOT (which is one of the junk things you can fish for)
3 of 3: Of course, some of them don't work so well: Run & Grow Free: 7237 -- maybe RADS (radicals?) or PADS (for animals' feet?) Lou Talbot: 2063 -- AQNE, maybe? Avalanche Patrol: 2006 -- AZZO is at least pronounceable, but meaningless.
