What happened to Second Chance?
It's still there; it's just been streamlined a little.
In previous games, when you accidentally stepped off a cliff, the game bumped you back out to the game menu and you had to pick Second Chance. Now, you'll be put straight back in the game before you "died" and have the chance to do it over again. It works the same way it did before, but now you don't have to click on a bit "Second Chance" button.
All the same, sometimes you get put back into an odd spot. I once died out in the wilderness from the cold, and when the game started up again I was making dinner. It's a good idea to save frequently, especially when you're doing something dangerous, for situations like this.
