Nancy Drew: The White Wolf of Icicle Creek Hints
I keep freezing to death!
1 of 5: You need to keep an eye on Nancy's cold meter at the top of the screen. The longer she's outside, especially on the really cold days, the colder she gets, and if you're a long way from shelter, you can easily freeze before you get inside. There are a couple of simple precautions that will lessen the danger:
2 of 5: -- Before you go outside, check the danger indicator next to the door. If it's at "Caution," you're fine for anything around the lodge and the shorter trips, such as to the skating pond. If it's at "Danger," you'll chill a lot faster even just hanging around the place, so keep an eye on your meter. If it's at "Extreme Danger," Nancy won't go outside at all, smart girl.
3 of 5: -- Also before you go outside, check the time. If it's close to 5 p.m., the danger indicator may look okay, but after 5 the temperature will drop like a rock; and if you're caught outside, you're in REAL trouble. Save the long trips for earlier in the day so you don't get stuck outside after dark.
4 of 5: -- After you've had a couple of snowball fights with Freddie, usually on the first day, you'll come inside to find a note from her in the foyer about a trick she has to keep warm. Play another game with her, and you'll find out --
5 of 5: -- that she has a large supply of Toasty Packs, little chemical packs that produce heat, and she'll give you one every time you win a snowball fight with her. So if you're going on a long hike, stock up with four or five Toasty Packs first by backing up and having many snowball fights with her.
