Nancy Drew: The Final Scene Hints

Solving the Senior Detective Puzzle

  • 1 of 10: For the basics on how this game is played, see below.
  • 2 of 10: If you'd like to try and work out the game on paper, you can use the below drawing if you like.
  • 3 of 10: Each time you move, so do the treble clefs.  There seem to be no particular "rules" dictating specific moves for the treble clefs.  Just play the game a few times to get a feel for where they go when you move.
  • 4 of 10: Remember that there are many ways to solve this puzzle.  I know of at least three, including my own, which I will explain in these hints.
  • 5 of 10: Your first move can be down or to the right.  This choice makes a difference where the Treble Clefs go in your remaining moves.
  • 6 of 10: I chose to go down twice and then right once.
  • 7 of 10: Keep reading for a step-by-step version of my solution.  Or cut to the chase below for a graphic illustration.
  • 8 of 10: Then I went up, right and down -- each once.
  • 9 of 10: I proceeded right three times and then down, right, and up.
  • 10 of 10: After that, I clicked right, up, left, up, and finally right.
