Solving the Spigot Puzzle
1 of 5: Notice in the diagram that each letter in "X V I L" is two letters away from the letters in "S O D A". That means that you will do the same action on each spigot, instead of different actions on each. This will be easier than you thought.
2 of 5: Except that each rotating block can advance three letters at a minimum, and you need to advance each block two letters. In spite of this, do you know how to reach those letters?
3 of 5: You will simply rotate each block all the way around to reach them. Remember, each block has seven sides. That means the letters in "X V I L" are also nine letters away from the letters in "S O D A".
4 of 5: And you can advance nine letters easily. That's 3 x 3, for example.
5 of 5: Advance each block nine letters by rotating it three sets of three, like this:
1) Pull each of the four spigots once to change each numerical display to a "1". 2) Push each of the four red buttons, causing each rotating block to advance three times to a new letter. 3) Repeat these two steps, then repeat them again, for a total of three times for each spigot.
