Nancy Drew: Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake Hints
What are the correct numbers to enter into the dials?
1 of 12: Carefully investigate what you are faced with here. Why these colors? Why four numbers? Why do the dials only display the numerals 0 through 5?
2 of 12: Do these colors look familiar? They should, for you have seen these four colors twice before.
3 of 12: First, if you recall the paintings of the dogs in the speakeasy, each dog is wearing a collar with a tag, and the tag on the collar of each dog is a different color:
Lucy's tag is green; the first number is associated with Lucy. Xander's tag is red; the second number is associated with Xander. Vitus' tag is blue; the third number is associated with Vitus. Iggy's tag is yellow; the fourth number is associated with Iggy.
4 of 12: Second, if you recall the scenery behind the doors of the doggie clock, each dog is associated with a plant or an animal, and each plant or animal in the scenery is a different color:
Lucy's scenery is green leaves; the first number is associated with Lucy. Xander's scenery is red swans; the second number is associated with Xander. Vitus' scenery is blue birds; the third number is associated with Vitus. Iggy's scenery is yellow deer; the fourth number is associated with Iggy.
5 of 12: But, what about those numbers? Maybe the numbers have something to do with the dog's names.
6 of 12: Have you ever wondered why the dogs have such unusual names? Lucy, Xander, Vitus, Iggy...
7 of 12: Lucy starts with an "L", Xander starts with an "X", Vitus, starts with a "V"...
8 of 12: Do these initial letters look at all familiar? They should, for you have seen them before, and not just in the context of the four dogs.
9 of 12: Vitus starts with a V..., which is a Roman numeral!
10 of 12: Each initial of the dog's name is a Roman numeral. L, X, V, and I.
