Nancy Drew: The Haunted Carousel Hints

Should I ask around about the device I found under the carousel?

  • 1 of 11: Ensure you have already investigated the carousel gear room.
  • 2 of 11: The carousel gear room has something interesting on the floor.  Have you found it?
  • 3 of 11: The floor of the carousel gear room has a trap door.  When you open it, it leads to a crawl space below the carousel.  There you find a strange device labeled Zap Tech Transmitters.  By all means, ask everyone about it and gauge his or her reactions.
  • 4 of 11: As soon as you find the device, the carousel starts up.  Be sure to move out of the way at that point, otherwise you'll be skewered!
  • 5 of 11: Have you asked Harlan about it?
  • 6 of 11: He's still mad at you, and won't speak to you.  Skip him for now.
  • 7 of 11: Have you asked Ingrid about it?
  • 8 of 11: You tell Ingrid that you found the device under the carousel.  She mentions that she had looked under there already, but didn't find anything at the time.  She asks if she can keep the device, but you decline.
  • 9 of 11: Have you asked Elliott about it?
  • 10 of 11: You tell Elliott that you have a theory: Someone stole the carousel horse, then made it look like the carousel was haunted so the publicity would make the horse worth more on the black market.  He reminds you that Rolfe Kessler did not carve the horse that was stolen.  You inform Elliott, however, that you just found out who bought the horse that was replaced years ago.  The horse that was stolen, you say, was definitely not the one that had been replaced.  The one that had been replaced, you know, was Joy's favorite carousel horse, and had been sold to Joy's mother.
  • 11 of 11: You then question Elliott about the large shipment of basswood that he received recently -- the same kind of wood that Kessler used to carve his carousel horses.  Elliott admits that he didn't want to tell anyone this, but he was trying to carve a carousel horse to replace the stolen one.  When you then casually mention to Elliott that someone who was good at it could make duplicates of the stolen horse, and then sell them on the black market, Elliott gets mad at you and asks you to leave.
