Nancy Drew: The Haunted Carousel Hints

Darryl Trent

  • 1 of 4: Darryl was an inventory and former co-owner of Captain's Cove Amusement Park in Captain's Cove, New Jersey.  He has been described as young at heart, younger even than most kids.  His success in happiness was contrasted sharply with his failure in business -- every investment opportunity he attempted was ill advised.  He ran into financial difficulties two years ago and had to sell his share of the park to Paula Santos, his partner.  He died flat broke while in bankruptcy court just two months ago.  A few weeks later, Paula hired his daughter Joy to work at the park.
  • 2 of 4: Have you called detective Parris and asked him if he knows anything about Darryl Trent?
  • 3 of 4: Trent's wife died when Joy was just four years old, leaving him to raise young Joy by himself.  Joy grew up to be shy and quiet, nothing like his personality.  Through all the trials, Darryl Trent never lost his boyish, child-like wonder.  As he grew older, he realized that life is nothing but memories, and even bad memories have a place in a good life.  He decided to help his daughter reconnect with long-lost memories of her childhood, and of her mother, Trent's late wife.
  • 4 of 4: To achieve that, he created something that needed to be an emotional, rather than financial success: Miles the Magnificent Memory Machine.
