Zork Nemesis Hints
How do I make the lead symbol?
of 20: You should be able to figure out a lot of this by trial and error, although if you look hard enough for instructions, you should be able to find some.
of 20: Remember those riddles that were written beneath the lens in Malveaux's study? The first one went something like "What good is a top if it cannot spin?"
of 20: Well, the questions are really telling you how to make the lead.
of 20: You'll need to find the machine room first -- it's beyond the lock controlled by the five skulls.
of 20: You should find the "top" (it just looks like a piece of twisted metal to me) next to a key and a book in one of the alcoves in this room.
of 20: Next, you need to find a keyhole for the key.
of 20: Look just to the right of the egg-shaped machine -- the keyhole is hidden behind a door -- and put the key in the hole.
of 20: Now you should find something to do with the top.
of 20: Pull the lever on the egg-shaped machine and put the top inside the egg. Then, turn the key and the machine will turn the top into a ball.
of 20: The next riddle said something about bathing a ball.
of 20: So put the ball in the machine with boiling liquid, and move the counterweight to submerge the ball.
of 20: The fourth riddle asked about the colors of flames.
of 20: Another one of the devices in this room allows you to set the colors of five flames.
of 20: The riddle didn't say anything about those colors, but you can find the proper setting elsewhere in the monastery.
of 20: Look in Malveaux's bedroom.
of 20: There are five flames painted above his bed -- those colors tell you how to set the flames in the machine room.
of 20: The proper colors are blue, yellow, red, orange, and white. Set the flames to those colors, starting with the top flame.
of 20: Then put the ball in the top of the machine.
of 20: The last riddle asked about using bellows.
of 20: So when the ball of metal comes out of the machine, click on the bellows, and it will cool into the alchemical metal you've been looking for.
